Another approach is to replace the fans and base of the control unit. The holes surrounding the top are designed to accommodate magnets for secure attachment to the casing. However, I haven't had a chance to implement this yet, and it's possible that I won't as the current setup works well with the box sitting on top. The legs feature 4 mm threaded holes.
