CR10 stock motor DIRECT mod , mk8-10 HEAVY DUTY
cults3d
Update: Added a front cover to increase strength and manage cables (M3x30mm bolt required). This mod was studied for the stock hotend and original motor. With the right length PTFE tube, it works well with flexible filaments. NOTICE: This is a work in progress. Using this, I'm really liking it. It works well and I usually don't print faster than 60-70mm/s, with travel at 100mm/s. Planning to upload other versions for different hotends but for that, I'll need testers. DESCRIPTION: After seeing many direct mods, I've noticed that every mod just screws on the X carriage or reprints the whole X carriage. I don't like printed parts as a structure and also don't see real strength in the few screw holes on the metal carriage. This mod is studied to hook on the back metal caps between the wheels and the carriage. It's the best possible mod and totally stable. PRINTING: Suggested PETG or ABS, avoid PLA. Print all the parts. All these files are forks with little differences from my older works and are studied for this mod only. Motor mount: For best results, print it as the file is arranged. Just support from the build platform. Yes, it will be much support on the bottom but will print with better results the filament zone part. Cooling files: One file is for a standard 5015 blower on the right. The other (my favorite) is a round mod for the nozzle. It will make air in both sides with just a blower 5015 on the right. Also, the fan is hooked better and won't create vibrations. Printing: Support only from the bed and change the density until you get a bit of support on the bridged part of the model. Choose what you like most. Cooling fan for the hotend: Doesn't need screws. It's just slide it on the heatsink. It's easier and more stable. Print the one on this post, but follow the instructions here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2612897 MOUNTING: For the lever: 1 M4x25mm - Spring adjustments 1 M4 nut - Spring adjustments 1 M4x12mm - Inside bearing holder For the motor mount: Stock bolt on the right M5x40mm bolt on the left PTFETUBE: Should be about 72mm. Not totally sure I've cutted mine bad. I apologize for my print photos. I've used hold printed parts :P. ALSO: A longer motor cable is needed
