CR10 / E3D Titan Filament Sensor Arm
thingiverse
Update 7/29/19: In the initial iteration, a problem arises where the filament may not fully compress the switch, resulting in the printer displaying a "temp too low" message. Essentially, it was missing filament. I made some slight design modifications to allow for more compression on the switch to fix this issue. This is a filament sensor mount/housing designed to work seamlessly with the Petsfang E3D v6 Hotend and Titan Direct Extruder setup. However, I believe it could be utilized in other areas as well. I am using this with my filament mounted on top of the printer. This mount positions the CR10(s) sensor directly above the E3D Titan extruder input, significantly reducing "waste" filament at the end of a run. The sensor wire lead can be routed along the wire bundle for the thermistor, heating element, and fans, but you may need to extend the wire slightly to make this work. This was designed to "slide" between the Titan Extruder, requiring only the top 2 bolts to be removed (and the bottom one(s) loosened). It requires M3x16 flathead screws to mount the sensor housing to the arm, and the M3 screws used to mount the extruder to the stepper will probably need to be longer by about 4mm. I utilized the longer bolts provided by th3dstudio, and you will likely need to adjust the pinion on the stepper. This is my first submission; feedback is welcome!
