This is a custom direct drive setup designed for the Ender 3, CR10, CR10S, CR10S4, and CR10S5 printers, utilizing a BMG extruder and an E3D V6 hotend. The primary intention was to couple the BMG extruder directly to the E3D V6 hotend without any PTFE bridge in between. Additionally, this setup allows for easy access to the BMG extruder while maintaining a minimal footprint. This design is specifically tailored to work with a BMG extruder and an E3D V6 hotend; it will not function properly with the stock hotend or a Micro Swiss style hotend. The overall profile remains small due to the use of the stock cooling fan found on the E3D V6. The part cooling fan comes in two distinct styles: one is designed for a 3mm x 5.5mm knurled nut insert, while the other uses a nut pocket for a 3mm hex nut. The fan fits a 5015 blower and shares one mounting screw with the BMG extruder. This basic design of the part cooling fan will be subject to future revisions as the fan duct is further developed. The mounting plate supports an 18mm inductive probe, held securely in place by a single 3mm set screw. The mounting plate attaches to the stock X Gantry using two 3mm x 10mm screws. Overall, this mount is incredibly sturdy, and the part cooling fan mount perfectly matches the corner contour of the BMG extruder, preventing any movement while only being single-point mounted. The mounting plate can accommodate a pancake stepper motor as well as the larger stock extruder stepper motor. Future designs will include enhanced wire management, a fan duct for the volcano hotend, and an upgraded part cooling duct. ABL Probe offsets are set at x -25, y 14.
