
CR-X E3D V6 Part Cooling Fan Duct

The E3D Clone hot end mounts a lot lower so the stock part cooling fan ducts blow on the hot end and not at the nozzle. This uses the stock fans and mounting and you replace the existing fan duct. Check the photos for the suggested print orientation to get the small holes printed. I drilled the holes out further with a 1.5mm drill bit. Fit to make sure it fits then you can glue the two parts together. There is also a pic showing the stock duct vs the extended duct. Its not perfect but is a major improvement in printing quality for pla and pla+ where you need part cooling especially on small parts and overhangs. There is also a zip containing all V2 files. Overhang test are very similar so maybe check out what works for you. You might also need to check your print start gcode if the new shroud hits the front left clip... In cura its under manage printers and alter start gcode look for: G1 F3000 X5 Y10 Z0.2 ;move to prime start position ... change to G1 F3000 X5 Y20 Z0.2 ;move to prime start position or whatever Yxx works for you. Update: 28/12/2020 New V3 with larger exit, the blower fans dont like constricting airflow. Also no gluing print ina single part. Depending on your slicing settings for overhangs you might want to put a support blocker on the tip of the fan duct to prevent support material on the inside. Update: 02/01/2021 V3 wich is 1mm and 2mm shorter included. My fan shroud mounts slightly off square so use a shorter on the right. One of the nozzels mount a bit shorter so created a 2mm shorter set as well.
