CR-10s Y Stepper Bearing Support
thingiverse
I recently installed Cornely_Cool's fantastic belt tensioners on my CR-10s (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2869114 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2854971). After making adjustments and increasing belt tightness a little, I began to worry about stepper shaft flex, particularly when the teeth are coming onto or off of the pulley or idler. Having seen good results from doing this to a Prusa i3 MK3's extruder stepper, I decided to apply it to my X and Y axis on CR-10s. This version is designed for people who already have bracing set up in some other way and simply need stepper shaft support. If you require both stepper shaft support and a brace, see: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3142885 This Y axis support offers the following: 1. Extremely low profile, which does not interfere with homing. 2. Utilizes a single press fit MR95ZZ bearing to support the Y stepper shaft, along with two M5 10mm bolts and M5 2020 Tnuts. 3. Prevents belt tension from pulling the stepper shaft forward. As the belt travels across the pulley/idlers, slight increases in pressure occur that can translate into the stepper shaft slightly bending and introducing print artifacts. This keeps everything precisely in place. 4. Allows for higher belt tension to be used. 5. Easy print, supports are not required if bridging is working correctly. Screw hole sockets are set up with small bridge layers optimized for 0.2mm layer height. You can find its X counterpart at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3140464
