CR 10S Pro - Reworked OEM Cooling Fan Duct
thingiverse
I experienced a problem with prints getting random layer shifts and after quite a bit of investigation and trials found that the cause was a poorly designed fan duct that came with my printer. What happened is that the silicon hotend cover was pressing on the fan duct, causing it to soften and distort at higher temperatures from PETG, then catching on top of my prints and resulting in layer shifts ! The fan cover is really poor and Creality should not supply a printer of this price with this problem. I downloaded the OEM fan duct and reworked it to get the required clearance to the hotend cover. I rotated and shifted the duct outlet slightly to get the air more central to the nozzle tip, which greatly improved airflow. To make the replacement duct more durable, I printed it in PETG for higher temp resistance. I hope this solution can help others who may be experiencing similar issues with their printers ! The supplied gcode file is for PETG and was sliced in CURA for a CR10S Pro. If needed, I will provide the fusion360 file for further modifications or improvements.
