People often use a cable trap to prevent the bed cable from refeeding back into its base. To tidy things up, you can smooth out any rough edges using fine sandpaper so that both parts fit together snugly. Next, gently pull the cable out of the base to give it full range of motion and then secure it in place with a zip tie, just like in the photo.
