I prefer to avoid using threaded rod in a frame brace due to its high cost, lack of rigidity, and uncomfortable grip. As an alternative, I opted for 1/2 inch EMT conduit, which offers a metal pipe with approximately 18mm outer diameter. For a CR-10s, ensuring a square frame requires measuring just under 60cm along the conduit from the top of one bracket to the other.
