This versatile cable strain relief and bed restraint is designed specifically for the ** CR-10s 4 **, but its compatibility extends to other CR-10 printers as well. It seamlessly integrates with stock hardware. The modification features a press-fit ** 7mm ** nut that securely holds the spring in place, eliminating wobble from the bed. The resulting solid raised edge effectively secures the glass bed without relying on clamping mechanisms that distort the aluminum bed. This installation requires the following steps: 1. Press fit the ** 7mm ** nut into place. 2. Insert the stock bed screw through the aluminum plate and secure it to the strain relief/bed restraint via the press-fit nut. 3. Feed the spring from underneath the strain relief over the screw that has been secured to the nut/fastener. 4. Assemble the unit by inserting it into the bed mounting plate. 5. Apply pressure to the spring by squeezing the assembled unit and attach the bed level adjustment knobs. This innovative solution is designed to tackle the well-documented issue of CR-10s bed vibration, wobble, mobility, and distortion. When paired with the complementary bed restraints, this unit effectively isolates the spring from the bed, resulting in: * Better print precision * No noticeable layer distortion * Improved print adhesion * Enhanced print bed heating due to reduced distortion when clamping Future developments include providing images of the printed part, press-fit fasteners, and competent assembly instructions. Additionally, refining and iterating the model to allow for full spring support or a hard/rigid mounting solution with stepper motor mounting capabilities is necessary.
