CR-10S 90 Degree Rotated Filament Sensor Housing
thingiverse
When designing the CR-10's filament spool holder to be positioned on its back, I had to rotate the extruder by 90 degrees. This move required me to also reposition the filament sensor accordingly. Finding a better than standard filament sensor housing was not difficult, but none of them rotated 90 degrees as needed for this purpose. To fill this gap, I created a redesigned version of the stock filament sensor housing. I had to rotate the extruder by 90 degrees in order to position the CR-10's filament spool holder on its back. This change necessitated repositioning the filament sensor as well. It wasn't hard to find better than standard filament sensor housings, but none were designed with a 90-degree rotation like I needed for this project. To address this issue, I came up with a new design for the stock filament sensor housing. The CR-10's filament spool holder had to be placed on its back, so I rotated the extruder by 90 degrees and adjusted the filament sensor accordingly. Most designs for better than standard filament sensor housings exist, but none were designed to rotate 90 degrees like this project required. Therefore, I created a new version of the stock filament sensor housing. When positioning the CR-10's filament spool holder on its back, rotating the extruder by 90 degrees was necessary, which also meant repositioning the filament sensor.
