CR-10S 120mm Fan Base
thingiverse
I designed this 120mm fan base to combine two 120mm fans on my CR10S and minimize filament usage. It took roughly 7 hours to print and around 50g of filament. The design features a right end, a left end, and a center bracket. Brackets are screwed directly into the fan mounting holes using 1-inch machine screws. The corners should fit snugly around the control box. If there's a gap at the corners, swap the corner brackets around. I printed the corner brackets on their sides. I inserted rubber feet from an old blender into the holes on the bottom. I removed the internal fans and added two 120mm Coolmaster fans from my old desktop computer. One fan pushes air in while the other pulls it out. I simply flipped one up and the other down. I also replaced the solid CR12 base plate with a wire mesh. This modification significantly reduced noise levels for me: Stock vs. Modified Fan Base Noise Levels Powered on: 41db vs. 36db Warming up: 54db vs. 36db Printing: 56db vs. 42db You are responsible for your machine if you decide to make this modification.
