Cr-10 Z-Axis Stepper Motor Damper Bracket
thingiverse
Here is a bracket designed to mount a vibration damper on the bottom of the Z-Axis Stepper Motor for the Creality Cr-10. This bracket replaces two of the bolts at the bottom of the stepper motor with longer M3 x 30mm bolts, which can be easily found at your local hardware store. The new bracket uses 2 - M4 x 10mm bolts that screw into t-nuts to attach to the 20mm side of the 2040 extrusion. The design features two different sets of holes for mounting the motor damper to the printed bracket, ensuring a secure fit. One set is fixed and centered on the extrusion, while the other is adjustable from side to side, accommodating lead screws that may not align perfectly with the fixed holes. To assemble the bracket correctly, rotate the stepper motor so that the wire connector faces the back of the printer. If you don't already have an adjustable Z-Axis limit switch mount, it's highly recommended to print one beforehand to make adjusting the home position easier. I previously tried using other designs from Thingiverse that mounted the stepper damper on top of the motor but found them to be problematic. They either obstructed the bed, fitted the stepper motor too tightly and defeated its purpose, or introduced excessive wobble in the stepper motor causing it to misalign the Z-axis lead screw.
