This two-piece part supplants and amplifies the acrylic stock cover on the Creality CR-10's Z-axis lead screw; It allows you to manually control the hot end up and down when steppers are disabled, a feature I have found extremely useful at times. For instance, when loading filament or stopping and inspecting a failing print or first layer, you can easily lift the hot end by hand to gain more working space and a clearer view of the piece. Works exactly the same as the earlier smaller version, only with a larger knob. This way it takes less spinning to manually control the hot end up and down. Simply replace the stock cover plate with the printed one and screw the knob onto the lead screw while holding the lead screw firmly but gently. Be sure not to apply too much pressure on the lead screw or bend it. VIDEOS A simple quick demonstration by me shows how the knob works: And a more professional video by Chuck Hellebuyck showcases how to install the knob (and some other useful CR-10 (mini) mods) on Filament Friday: (3 minutes and 23 seconds in).
