CR-10 X-Mounted Spool Holder

This is a 90-degree offset design that replicates the concept and mounting style of GRNTKRL's Creality CR-10 x-stepper spool holder.\r\n\r\nGRNTKRL's design was a game-changer, but it took up a significant amount of space on my workbench. I was in the process of converting my printer to a standalone format, eliminating the need for the big black box alongside the printer, so I wanted to reduce the space occupied by the spool as well.\r\n\r\nI used GRNTKRL's model for several months with no X gantry issues, despite some comments on GRNTKRL's models page suggesting otherwise. However, the upper strut was starting to bend, and the two hooks attaching the model to the X gantry roller were about to give way under the weight of heavy spools. Along with giving GRNTKRL's concept a 90-degree turn, I beefed up the thickness of everything and opted not to chamfer any edges for added strength.\r\n\r\nFor convenience, I added a diagonal tube to the upper strut that fits a standard PTFE tube for 1.75mm filament. This allows me to use a scrap piece of PTFE tube to guide filament into the extruder.\r\n\r\nI printed this model horizontally with the flat side down, as it appears in the STL file, using supports at 45 degrees and 5% density with the default CR-10 Cura profile at .2mm resolution.\r\n\r\nMy printer is a super cheap knock-off of the CR-10, so I can't confirm whether this model will accept the stock Creality roller. I modified an extended roller made by budthedog that fits this model, and jantzenday's CR-10 Spool Adapter available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4110024.\r\n\r\nI highly recommend jantzenday's adapter, especially if you're using a X-mounted spool holder. Having a fitted spool prevents it from flopping around and introducing noise into your prints. His adapter is also available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2387254.\r\n\r\nSince my printer didn't come with a proper spool holder, I needed the 2 necessary spool nuts to fit my modified threaded tube. Eckaat96 was kind enough to post a proper nut for the Ender2 & 3.
