CR-10 X carriage
thingiverse
This is a carriage designed specifically for use with the CR-10, engineered to accommodate two 50x15 blower fans as well as a 30mm fan for effective hotend cooling. All screws used are M3, and an M3 loc nut is strategically positioned behind the hotend to ensure stability. So far, this design has proven to be highly effective, delivering excellent cooling performance that meets expectations. The fan ducts were printed on their sides using a 15% grid support setting on the buildplate, making it relatively easy to remove excess material with default Cura settings. The hotend cooler was also printed upside down, utilizing a 15% lines support configuration for optimal results. All components have been printed in PLA, resulting in a durable and high-quality finish. Update 2018-02-01: The hotend cooler has an added feature allowing users to fasten hotend cables using a zip tie for neat organization. A new design has been implemented for the fan ducts, providing better pointed cooling while reducing airflow on the hot end nozzle for improved performance. The x-carriage has also undergone optimization to ensure smoother belt operation.
