CR-10 X Alignment Blocks

These printable alignment blocks ensure precise leveling of your X-Gantry on the CR-10 before leveling the bed. A V2 model has been updated with a deeper hole for the Z limit switch, as per user request. The long X-gantry tends to drift out of level over time due to various factors such as stepper slip, roller creep, or stress on the axis when changing filament. A parallel axis to the base frame is essential to achieve accurate leveling and prevent prints from coming out skewed. Follow these steps for proper use: 1. Home your machine. 2. Move the Z-axis up about 30 mm or more. 3. Move the X-axis over about 40 mm or more. 4. Place the alignment blocks into position on the frame of the machine, ensuring that the left block has a cut-out for the Z-stop switch and the rails fit snugly into the grooves in the aluminum frame. 5. Slowly move the Z-axis until the X-Gantry just touches the top of either the Left or Right alignment blocks. Note how far off the other side was for future reference. 6. Disable the steppers from the control panel. 7. Manually tighten the Z-screws until the X-Gantry sits snugly on both alignment blocks. 8. Raise your Z-axis by 10 mm or more using your control panel. 9. Remove and store the alignment blocks for later use. 10. Level your bed according to standard procedure, and you're ready to print!
