cr-10 v2 rotating filament guide roller
thingiverse
I was looking at several of the filament guide rollers people have designed for the Ender 3 and the CR-10. I decided to make my own version, specifically one that allows the bearing and V roller to rotate a bit. My filament reel is up on the top beam of the CR-10 and the filament drops down to the filament sensor/extruder. I might mount more filament reels back from the upper left corner of the printer when I put it in an enclosure. So I wanted a filament guide that could rotate a little. I used some M6x1 Allen head cap screws that I scavenged from empty eSun Filament reels and cut them to a shorter length. The bearing is a standard roller blade wheel bearing Aka a 608 bearing (22mm OD, 8mm ID, 7mm wide). I made 2 versions of the V roller, one is a single unit, and the other is 2 halves, which print better if you don't want to use support. I printed the base on its side with no support, and the arm also on its right side, and no support. The holes printed a little small on my CR-10 so I just drilled out the small ones for the filament and re-tapped the M6x1 threaded holes. My original arm design did not have the filament guide at the tip (you can see that in the top view picture. But the filament would not stay in the roller, so I added a filament guide at the tip, which you can see in the final part.
