This project serves as a concept suggestion for converting Y-axis motion on linear rails for CR-10/Tevo Tornado 3D printers. It's possible that a solution like this already exists, but I couldn't find it, so I'm sharing my idea with the community. Key features of this setup include: * No printed adapters are required * The entire system is made from metal * All you need to do is drill a few 4mm holes precisely The key to making this work is using standardized 2010 aluminium profiles to mount the rails. With these profiles, you only need to drill a few precise holes into them and the Y-axis aluminium plate, and everything will fit perfectly together. Finding a supplier for these profiles in your region might be the most challenging part of this modification. To draw the hole positions on your bed aluminium plate accurately, you can use the motion system of your printer. It may seem silly, but using this method yields 16 perfectly aligned hole positions that match the printer's axes. You can find a video demonstrating this setup at https://youtu.be/-WBLUmoa3o8. When drilling holes for the linear rail carriages, it's recommended to use 4mm holes even though the mounting holes are only 3mm. This allows for some margin in case of drill inaccuracies and ensures that screw pads can be used securely. Sliding nuts (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dZ5iE01) are also recommended for this setup. To mount the 2010 profile on your printer, use M4 nuts from the 20 series, and to attach the rails to the profile, use M3 nuts from the same series.
