CR-10 Spring Tensioner

CR-10 Spring Tensioner

thingiverse

I struggled with the extruder slipping and prints failing because of the CR-10 spring's weakness, offering little tension and no adjustment options. I designed a spacer/spring holder to increase the spring's grip. Unfortunately, it works too well - strong hands are required to open the clamp after installation. Since its implementation, I've had no issues with slipping, and the filament isn't being ground down. This solution might be helpful for others dealing with similar problems. Note that this design is provided in G-code format due to Fusion 360's limitations on exporting STL files. Simply copy it onto an SD card and print from the main box or rescale the Z-axis by 10mm if you're using Simplify 3D.
