CR-10 Spool Holder

CR-10 Spool Holder

When I got my CR-10, printing with provided PLA was a non-stop affair until I decided to try out some PLA that had been sitting around for ages - only to discover that the spool diameter was too small to fit over the provided spool holder! Since I had 10 more of these spools sealed up and ready to go, making this replacement spool holder made perfect sense. You can customize its width and diameter to suit whatever spools you have on hand. You can also make the rod as sturdy as you want... I kept it relatively conservative and print time clocked in at around 6 hours. Hope this helps someone out. Designed with OpenSCAD, which uses the thread library found here: http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/ Just a heads-up, rendering threads takes quite some time in OpenSCAD, so don't get too impatient - it'll be worth the wait!
