CR-10 S5 Y Axis dual motor brackets
prusaprinters

I noticed that the Y-motor on my CR-10 S5 is not properly positioned, the belt was not running parallel to the bed level. This would have caused an small error in dimensions depending on the bed position so I wanted to fix it. I designed these brackets, inspired by some other designs so there's one for both ends of the motor for extra stability.

However after printing and installing these, I noticed the reason why the motor is mounted lower than it should be for proper alignment: the bed frame hits the motor and can't reach the homing position. So I had the take the bed assembly apart and remove some material from the aluminum profile. See the picture with the slot. I had to make the slot both wider and deeper.

Source code here (OpenSCAD): https://github.com/spegelius/3DModels/tree/master/CR-10_S5_Y_Axis_motor_bracket
Category: 3D Printer Parts
