CR-10 S4 Skookum Brace

This is a major enhancement for the CR-10 S4. Several things you should know right away: 1) If you're not comfortable disassembling and reassembling your printer, troubleshooting any issues that might arise, this modification isn't for you. 2) Some design decisions, particularly regarding the tensioner, were influenced by the available parts. It's likely there are better solutions for that component. 3) This enhancement is geared towards the S4, but it could be adapted to the standard 300x300mm CR-10 with some adjustments: shortening the belt and modifying the angle of the support brackets. https://youtu.be/mVY5oR_-VKs This modification provides added Z stability for the gantry. The lead screws are identical, ensuring a full turn of either screw results in equivalent Z travel. Both screws feature an identical belt gear, so Xmm of belt travel equals the same amount of rotation on both screws. The belt remains under tension, eliminating the possibility of it slipping from either gear. As both screws move in unison, the gantry's level is maintained throughout the entire Z axis. Additionally, the diagonal bracing adds stability to the gantry towers. Printing small infill or zigzag patterns can induce a vibration of the gantry towers and gantry (and print head), more noticeable at higher heights on tall prints. The diagonal bracing prevents this vibration, enhancing print quality under conditions that would otherwise affect it. Top spool holder arms have been integrated for convenience. This design makes sense in the context of this enhancement. [Front side view](http://i.imgur.com/G5ZeiZu.jpg) [Rear side view](http://i.imgur.com/EWwdO6O.jpg) Got questions about this mod?
