CR 10 S Enclosure

CR 10 S Enclosure

thingiverse

I abandon this project since I found myself in the face of the eternal paradox. What was first, the chicken or the egg? I heard that scientists discovered a "primordial chicken" who laid an egg and passed on all its genetic codes. All parts I try to print for this project require an enclosure. ABS, ASA filaments come with their own set of challenges - trial after trial, test after test, delamination, bad adhesion... children crying, neighbors screaming... it's all part of the printing process. With the money spent on these filaments, it was possible to build not one but two printer enclosures for the same price! What are you waiting for? Place that order right now! I found myself once in my yard with leftover metal profiles, tripped and fell, and then voila - my new metal frame enclosure was born. Some of the genetic codes from the previous chicken were passed on to this new egg... but what parent isn't proud of their progeny? The End. PS: Please see my CR10 Metal Frame Enclosure! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3126511 If any of you complete the old project, please share it with the rest of us! If you've already printed this project and have some trouble with it, let me know - we can modify the parts to fit. I start printing all parts again in ASA on April 21st. I'll update as soon as I complete the enclosure. On April 2nd, I just print all structure corners and mount the frame. See pict. f. The rest of the parts are being printed. However, my PLA-printed parts are fragile. Using a poly-carbonate sheet will increase their strength. The entire build will weigh below 5 kg. A 4mm poly-carbonate sheet costs 3.6 Euro/m2. As a reference to this profile, see below: https://www.dedeman.ro/constanta1/policarbonat-celular-cu-2-pereti-transparent-6000-x-2100-x-4-mm/p/6006289 If you're looking for a very light structure, this is it. If you look for something heavy and strong... you need to make the frame from welded metal or wood... or something else. On March 31st, I just tested the second design - it's okay. Printing in progress. See pict. c & d. On March 30th, CR10 S - enclosure - suitable for other printers as well. Use drywall with steel profiles 23 X 28 mm and 0.5mm thickness in double layers. As a reference to this profile, see below: https://www.dedeman.ro/constanta1/profil-gips-carton-din-tabla-zincata-ud-28-x-23-x-3000-mm/p/5007021 Price is 0.39 Euro/m. Guidance dimensions are 600 X 800 X 900 mm - feel free to use your own measurements. A - 4 pcs, B - 4 pcs, C - 2 pcs, D 2 pcs, E - 2 pcs, F - 2 pcs, G - 2 pcs, H - 2 pcs. (Design with only one door! For a second door, you need to print all additional parts - door and hinges.) Print with support and skirt. Pictures are from the first design with 2 mm walls. The second design comes with 3mm walls. https://pinshape.com/items/44114-3d-printed-cr-10-s-enclosure
