CR-10 Pen holder.
thingiverse
A somewhat over-engineered yet still imperfect pen holder for the Creality CR-10 printer. The rubber band in place ensures the pen remains firmly held down even when printing on uneven materials. This upgrade is a game-changer because it attaches to one of the fans with 4 M2 screws without removing any existing parts from the printer, thus not interfering with the extruder or other components. Printing remains unchanged with this upgrade installed. I will mount and test this upgrade in the morning, February 23rd, 2018. Edit: Some potential improvements could be made to the pen holder design, such as incorporating a 6 mm linear bearing and replacing the rubber band with a spring for increased reliability. However, I opted not to make these changes since few people have linear bearings on hand, and my goal was to make this upgrade accessible to as many users as possible. Update: After testing, I can confirm that it works effectively. Nevertheless, there is some wobble on the Y-axis. This issue would be resolved by incorporating bearings into the design. Currently, nothing collides during full travel. Update 2: A nested pen holder has been added for those who only want to print on paper. This version requires fewer parts and does not necessitate bearings. For further information regarding the required part list, please see below.
