CR-10 Orientable Extruder Led Bar
thingiverse
This version of my Led Bar Extruder is totally adjustable, allowing me to turn it in countless directions while paying close attention even when the printer is running smoothly. Print with 80% infill to get the best results. For the connectors, I used Dupont by inserting inverted female headers, thereby eliminating the possibility of reverse polarity errors. One connector has a male pin on the GND, the other on the VCC, and vice versa for the female connectors. To keep the connectors stable, I designed guides that allow me to insert them from above. I chose an LED strip for this project. The bar can accommodate up to 5 cm of strip, but you don't need to use the full length - my tests showed that 5 cm was the optimal solution. I used a 2835 LED strip with 240 LEDs per meter that I had on hand, so in 5 cm there are 12 LEDs. To control the extruder, I installed a switch on the front of the control unit, right below the display screen. Just be careful not to point it too far down when the printer or extruder is very close to the print bed. I'm not familiar with other printers, but I think this design can be easily adapted to other printers by simply changing the vertical support and keeping the sphere that allows for movement.
