CR-10 Mod - X axis Tensioner w/ Hex nuts and bolts
thingiverse
I adjusted the x body from Cornely_Cool by loosening the tolerances by .3 on the body for where it fits into the 2020 extrusion because the tolerances were too tight. This made it easy to slide in very easily right after print without any extra cleanup. The pulley body part was also modified by clearancing each side by .3, allowing it to fit perfectly every time. I preferred to use a nut and bolt setup instead of the original screw combo because it's more reliable and better suited for this application. Two M5 x 0.8 nuts and one M5 x 25 bolt are used for the knob and pulley. Using a soldering iron is highly recommended when assembling these parts. Simply apply a dab of superglue to the face of the plastic where you're inserting, then press-fit the hardware into place using the soldering iron. When installing the nut into the pulley body, heat it up until it slides in easily, then use a screwdriver with a similar diameter to press it in immediately. This ensures a secure fit that won't come loose over time. Alternatively, you can use a bolt to pull it through from the other end, but be sure to remove it before heating up the nut to avoid burning yourself.
