CR-10 Mini(and others) Filament spool holder 608 bearings
thingiverse
Another filament spool holder for sitting directly on the CR-10 control box. I tried out several available options on thingiverse, but they worked only partially and occasionally the roll would pull off completely. I decided that I wanted to design some holders where the roll sits much lower into the spool holder to prevent it from falling either forward or backward, or even sideways. I created this entirely from scratch using openscad. If anyone wants to modify them, I have included the scad file right here. So far, I've had no problems with these holders whatsoever. I'm currently using these on the CR-10 mini, but I believe they should fit perfectly on most versions of the CR-10. The width of the control box is 125mm, and this can be easily adjusted for different control boxes if needed. Unlike some similar holders, the two parts that make up each stand are not symmetrical, so you'll need to print two of each: holder_outer and holder_middle. You will also need four 608 bearings - these are extremely common and very affordable, and can be found at many DIY shops. They're also commonly used in fidget spinners and skateboards. To join the two pieces together, I simply used superglue.
