CR-10 LED Light Top

CR-10 LED Light Top

thingiverse

This is a top-mounted LED strip light designed for indirect lighting. The standard LED strip mounts found on Thingiverse position the light too close to the bed, causing terrible glare on my webcam. To avoid this issue, I created a design that mounts the light far enough away to diffuse the lighting. Additionally, I wanted indirect lighting to prevent harsh shadows from the X-axis bar. This setup works well for me and might be helpful for others as well. I used LED strips with self-adhesive backing purchased from Amazon. The links to these products are https://amzn.to/2KCbzKy. The holes in this design use 5mm bolts and T-nuts, which can be found at the following Amazon links: https://amzn.to/2BB28Iy and https://amzn.to/2zstPBP. When working with wires, it's essential to choose a method that prevents them from getting tangled in your X-axis bar. I will post a picture of my setup for reference, but I'm confident that others can find an even more effective way to manage the wiring. To print this design successfully, you should orient it upside down (with curves pointing upwards) and use supports as needed.
