CR-10 high clearance Z rod holder
thingiverse
This secures the CR-10's Z rod in place with high clearance to avoid contact with the X axis bar at 410mm. Attach using M3 screws and wingnuts. Initially, the original screws were too long and interfered with the X axis bar. Insert the original bearing into the new holder by squeezing it into place with pliers or a similar tool. Instructions: 1. Print as depicted in the pictures. 2. Insert M3 screws and lightly tighten the wingnuts. 3. Remove the original Z rod holder and extract the bearing. 4. Squeeze the bearing into its new position within the printed Z rod holder. 5. Place the new holder in position. 6. Loosen the M3 screws to allow the wingnut to rotate freely. 7. Tighten the M3 screw firmly, ensuring the wingnuts are aligned vertically. 8. The upgrade is complete. This modification has been thoroughly tested and yields excellent results. To achieve optimal positioning, leave it slightly loose and raise the Z axis to around 400mm before tightening down. This ensures accurate alignment of the new holder.
