CR-10 High Clearance Fang Mod for 5015 Fans

I really love the high clearance fang mod made by Tacblades, and I'm not alone in my admiration - it's a fan favorite among makers.\r\n\r\nThe original design had its drawbacks though; that high-pitched whine from the OEM blower fan was a major turn-off for me. But what really got me motivated to remix this project was the promise of a quieter, more efficient solution.\r\n\r\nThis remix is essentially identical to the original, except it swaps out the OEM fan for a standard 5015 blower fan - a much better option if you ask me.\r\n\r\nFor detailed fitting instructions, be sure to check out this resource: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2544186\r\n\r\nRight now, I'm running this fan: https://e3d-online.com/50x50x15mm-12v-dc-side-blow-fan - it's a game-changer for my prints.\r\n\r\nOne thing to keep in mind is that some fans are more finicky than others. Specifically, the 'HK Fan' can be a bit temperamental and may stall if you try to run it at speeds lower than 100% - not ideal if you're looking for flexibility.\r\n\r\nTo secure my fan, I used a stainless M3x25 cap-head screw paired with an M3 nyloc nut and a couple of washers. It's held up nicely so far.\r\n\r\nIn March 2018, I uploaded a fan adapter that allows you to swap out the 40mm axial fan for another 5015 blower - it's been a lifesaver in terms of heat creep and clogs: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2815752 \r\n\r\nBe sure to check out my CR10 custom frame trims here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2639030\r\n\r\nMy 3D printed Bluetooth speaker is also worth a look: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2806307
