CR-10 Glass Holder & Clip

CR-10 Glass Holder & Clip

I got my hands on a CR-10 and wasn't thrilled about using those clips to hold the glass in place, so I came up with something to put under the bed that would keep the glass secure without getting in the way. This setup allows for easy removal of the glass print bed, keeps the glass square, and clamps it down tight. You'll want to use materials that can withstand the high temperatures the bed reaches while printing. Nylon and ABS are top choices. Print three of each part and install the holder on the leveling screw between the heating plate and the spring. The clip fits snugly into the corner and clips into the holder, putting pressure on the glass. I went back to finish the piece for the corner where the bed heater power cable attaches - those were the latest additions. One side is trimmed back to prevent collisions with the z-axis stepping motor mounting bracket, which was a problem in my previous design. There's also an extended tab for cable strain relief that just needs two zip-ties. Now I'm including one of each holder without holes, so you can size them to fit other Creality printers if needed. Simply place the holder under the build plate, mark the hole spot, and once it's away from the print bed, drill your desired hole size. Update: I recently designed and built an enclosure for my entire printer, and those nylon printed clips are holding up great even when in contact with the bed set to 95c.
