CR-10 Filament Run-Out Sensor Switch Box
thingiverse
I designed this switch box around the cr-10 stock Z-axis end stop switch to work seamlessly with Octoprint. Originally removed from my cr-10 to install the ABL auto leveling sensor, it's now being repurposed as a filament run-out switch. The T-like indented pattern on the red plate bracket in the picture was duplicated exactly in this switch box. I've kept things simple and straightforward - no unnecessary frills here. For anyone interested, I've included the Autodesk Inventor file (.ipt file) for modification purposes. After printing, be sure to check the filament feed hole carefully; a 5/64th drill bit was used to create an extra-smooth hole. Feel free to modify as needed. The picture of the part in the software is actually the final product, with a slight adjustment made to provide more room above the filament for smooth movement. The same two screws that originally mounted the end stop were reused; if you've misplaced them, I'm afraid I don't know their size. One of the pictures shows a ribbon cable - it's a 24" JST 2S extension cable purchased on eBay. Note: If you downloaded one of the first STL files, please be aware that a corrected version has been uploaded; a previous incorrect filament hole placement was mistakenly used in the initial upload.
