CR-10 Fang for 40x40x20mm Fan Cooler
thingiverse
I was unimpressed by the fang designs available here, as many wouldn't accommodate my larger Noctua A4x20 fans, which stand at 20mm high. Others weren't optimized for airflow. So I drew inspiration from a few different models and created a custom version myself using Solidworks. The part fits snugly onto the stock extruder. Key sources of inspiration: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2473423 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2160958 I've discovered that the current setup may cause the hot end screws to loosen, requiring them to be tightened securely or using Loctite blue. By enlarging the holes in the cooling duct, I mounted the original screws directly onto the hotend cooler. The entire print cooling fang will rest on two screws, and this does not need to be secured tightly like the hot end. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to test this. Edit 21-3-2018: Uploaded the original Solidworks drawing as requested. Edit 5-12-2018: Uploaded different versions with various mounting hole options for the hotend screws. I also uploaded a new fang that allows for two 40mm part cooling fans to be mounted.
