CR-10 Extruder with NUT and PTFE insert
thingiverse
The Original extruder of the Creality CR-10 Printer has a critical flaw: The Bowden's pneumatic coupler threads DIRECTLY into the extruder's plastic. This union is vulnerable to failure due to repeated uninstall-reinstall and excessive pressure generated by the filament pushing through the bowden tube. To address this issue, I designed an innovative solution that utilizes a trapped M6 nut to thread the pneumatic coupler. Moreover, I enlarged the filament hole so that a piece of PTFE tube can be inserted and trimmed to seal all gaps between drive gear and the bowden. The ptfe insert will greatly benefit flexible filaments. There are two versions available: the original one and the enhanced version. The improved version features filled angles throughout, making it softer and more plastic-friendly ( straight edges being plastic weak points ).
