CR-10 / Ender3 DTI holder for bed alignment
thingiverse
To make leveling my bed quick and accurate, I printed a holder for this very affordable but excellent quality Digital Tool Indicator. The DTI fits in this bracket and is pressed onto the fan housing. From the SD card, I select the code, which first heats up my bed and nozzle to operating temperature (if needed) before homing my bed and pausing while adjusting the height with a piece of paper between bed and nozzle. After a delay, the Z-axis rises and then descends onto my bed, and the DTI is set to zero. Next, I pause and move to each corner in turn, turning the bed-adjusting screw until the DTI reads zero. Then, it returns to its home position, rises, and the DTI can be removed, ready for printing. I've printed these leveling knob attachments, making adjustments very easy - no more fumbling under my bed. The G-code is here: http://myfordboy.blogspot.com/p/creality-cr-10.html. UPDATE: I uploaded another file with the DTI holder further forward to suit other models.
