CR-10 / Ender 3 Dual 40mm Part Cooling Fan Ductinator
thingiverse
I've been running a Fang fan duct for a while now, but after considering switching to a direct drive setup, I realized that the high, top-mounted fan would obstruct my extruder. So, I drew inspiration from the Ultimaker 2 fan configuration. My design is based on the logic that large fans moving at slower speeds can move more air and operate more quietly than smaller fans running at full speed. For normal printing, I run the fans at 50% capacity. However, when I want to print quickly with a fat nozzle, I can throttle them up for big, fat, thick layers. The photos show a Volcano heater block version of my design, but this thing is specifically tailored for a standard heater block and stock Creality hot end. I was previously using a Micro Swiss all-metal hot end, and recently upgraded to a clone volcano heater block. The only difference between the two is that the Volcano fan duct is longer and taller in design.
