CR-10 Control Box Cooler

After noticing my control box getting hot to the touch during larger prints, I decided it was time to over engineer a fix. I opened my control unit and discovered one of the fans had died. This cooler base replaces the base plate and contains two 120mm Noctua NF-P12 Redux fans. These are pretty cheap fans that can be found on Amazon. Dual fans are optional. Preferring redundancy, I recommend using both fan slots and wiring these into the unit with a detachable wire connector for easy removal. If using dual fans, be sure to have one blow upward and one downward. After running this for a little while on a long print, I noticed the air coming out was not warm. At first I thought this was a good thing. Then I realized I needed to cover the side vents on the control box with tape so that the air would flow properly (in the side vent and out the front). I instantly felt a difference in temperature. I am now pulling the heat out better.
