CR-10 "Blade Runner" Printer Feet
thingiverse
These CR-10 feet are an homage to the famous Ennis Brown House in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, designed by renowned Architect Frank Lloyd Wright. All CR-10 owners purchase motor dampers as a crucial step towards silencing their CR-10 printers. However, for those living in multi-family structures, noise complaints from neighbors can still be a concern. To address this issue, I have created these custom feet with speaker spikes and washer feet to ensure complete silence. The spikes and washer feet were initially sufficient to silence the printer, but I wanted a more appealing design. This Thing is designed to showcase the "hush" mechanism. I am using these feet in conjunction with speaker spikes inserted into the underside of the CR-10 and rubber washing machine anti-vibration/walking feet on top. The rubber washer helps keep the speaker spikes' discs centered within the foot, although it's not essential and can be replaced depending on personal preference. A test print was done with a low quality setting at high speeds to demonstrate the fitment of these custom feet. I plan to re-print all four CR-10 feet with high-quality settings at lower speeds for improved layer adhesion using satin-silver filament. This will enhance their appearance and functionality. The current design allows users to see how it's assembled and looks on the printer. Happy printing!
