CR 10 AutoLift Bed insulator
thingiverse
Hey CR 10 owners, I've created an auto-retracting insulation layer to boost your printer's performance. Why do you need it? Simply put, if you want to print at high bed temperatures - closer to 100 C, for instance - your CR 10 struggles to get there quickly and safely. This mod solves that problem by rapidly increasing the temperature and then automatically removing itself when the bed reaches its Zero position. I designed this insulation layer using some spare springs I had lying around, but I've also included hooks so you can easily use elastics instead. To complete the job, you'll need to cut a sheet of double-walled cardboard to fit your printer's frame. The parts simply snap into place, and you can secure the board with glue as needed. To get started, you'll need two sets of everything - that is, two springs or hooks - along with one additional hook for good measure. I've provided GCode specifically tailored for printing with PLA, so feel free to give this mod a try and see the difference it makes!
