I swap out the mounting holes for the sensor with M3 brass inserts because I prefer not to drill directly into the plastic. I opt instead to install M3 brass inserts, which can be purchased in bulk from online retailers such as Aliexpress, where they offer a 100-PC lot of M2, M2.5, and M3 through-threaded brass insert nuts with knurled surfaces.
