Cr-10 (A31) Dial Gauge Indicator for bed
thingiverse
I remixed this design from Caster, who kindly provided the STEP file to fit my new dial indicator (http://www.ebay.com/itm/0-01mm-Accuracy-Precision-Indicator-Gauge-Dial-Indicator-Measurement-Instrument/262773031533?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) and adjusted it to fit the housing of my Afinibot A31 hotend, which differs slightly from the CR-10 model. To make room for the dial indicator, I removed the grill in front of the heat break cooling fan, as it serves no practical purpose. For calibration, start by moving the Z-axis to match a business card's height, then use the caliper-measured card to level one corner. Next, raise the hotend and adjust the dial indicator to fit. Finally, adjust all four corners to display the same value, ensuring perfect bed leveling. Verify this by checking the middle of the bed for any warping. I've uploaded the STL, STEP, and Fusion 360 files for your reference. Additionally, I swapped out the original backplate with a new one designed for the dial indicator.
