CPW (Canadian Production Wheel) Bobbin
thingiverse
This is a Bobbin I designed for a Canadian Production Spinning Wheel. I'm sharing the model if anyone else wants to try printing it. I have tried to print it multiple times, and it hasn't come out well as a single piece. One day when I get time, I'll try to re-design this as 3 separate pieces. UPDATE 2017.01.09 A while back I had modified this design to be printed in 3 parts and assembled. I have not had time to print and test this, but I want to make the files available to others who would like to try. I have uploaded 6 new files, the 3 FreeCAD files and the 3 STL files. Older UPDATE: Added Photos and the original FreeCAD file. Since CPWs were made by many different people, this bobbin may not work for your wheel. Print Settings Printer: DaVinci Jr. Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Medium Infill: 30% Notes: I have printed multiple times, and have only had 1 somewhat usable bobbin come out. I have also tried to print this on a MonoPrice Architect and a Robo3D printer, and was not successful on either. How I Designed This This was designed in FreeCAD. The silhouette of the 1/2 bobbin was created in sketch, and then I used revolve to complete the object. I did Fillet on some of the edges I wanted to be round.
