Waterblock holder for 1155 CPU Background: Upgrading my PC from a Core2Duo to a CoreI7 necessitated replacing the CPU waterblock holder due to its incompatibility with the new system. Given that the computer is water-cooled, replacing the existing holder was unavoidable since the innovative waterblock designed by German company innovatek.de does not come equipped with a compatible holder for 1155 CPUs. Solution: One approach would be to fabricate a custom holder. The design can be adapted using Design Spark Mechanical and tailored to specific requirements. However, a key challenge lies in assembling the part correctly while ensuring sufficient pressure on the CPU is maintained during operation. Fabricating the entire component from conception to assembly took approximately three hours, including the printing phase.
