CPS1 HDMI Bracket for CPS2 Digital Install

CPS1 HDMI Bracket for CPS2 Digital Install

thingiverse

I recently installed the CPS2 Digital AV to a Capcom CPS1. I noticed that the entire setup is supported only by the 3 pin headers so when plugging and unplugged the HDMI cable, that's where all the pressure will be. I didn't like that so this bracket will keep it solid and take the pressure off those pin headers. I made 2 versions as there are different methods of installing them. Use the 8.5mm file if you are laying the CPS2Digital AV flat against the CPS1 adapter. Use the 9.5mm file if you are using Pin headers between the CPS1 adapter and the CPS2 Digital. This is super tight, but it does work as that's how I installed mine. **NOTE: If you have the Darksoft Multi, the IC right behind the HDMI connector may be really close, so to be safe, you can bend the first 2 pins inwards and I put Kapton tape over the HDMI connector to protect is as a "just in case". I am not responsible for any user error in installing these. This was made to suit my needs and if it works for you, then even better. :) The user is responsible for all potential clearance issues and installs. Hardware Needed: For Jasen's CPS1 Case - Use one of the included screws to mount the bracket (there's only one way to install it). Then use 2 - M3 x 8mm panhead screws (one with a nut). One for the second mount and the other to secure the washer. For any that doesn't use the two mounting holes, you'll need 3 - M3 x 8mm and 2 M3 nuts. 1 for the washer and 2 for the mounting of the bracket to the PCB. Installation: First Step for both installs: Use one of the m3 screws to pre-thread the smaller, countersunk opening. This is so you can install the washer with ease. For direct PCB Mounting of CPS1 adapter and CPS2Digital, use the 2 - M3x8 screws and nut to loosely mount the bracket to the PCB. Keep it loose enough as you'll need to slide in the CPS2Digital into the slot then tighten the nuts. You'll have access to the right opening, but the one below the CPS2Digital will be hard to get to so tighten that nut as best as you can. If installed properly, you should see the pre-threaded hole in the opening inside the CPS2 digital. Install the washer with the remaining M3x8mm screw. It should fit inside the PCB opening quite well. This will help with the horizontal shifts when plugging and unplugging the HDMI cable. For using Pin headers between CPS1 adapter and CPS2Digital, you can completely mount the bracket to the board first using 2 - M3x8mm screws and nuts (or just one if using Jasen's case). There's enough room to slide the CPS2 digital into the slot and press into the 2 pin header on the CPS1 adapter. If installed properly, you should see the pre-threaded hole in the opening inside the CPS2 digital. Install the washer with the remaining M3x8mm screw. It should fit inside the PCB opening quite well. This will help with the horizontal shifts when plugging and unplugging the HDMI cable.
