As the Cowling was unavailable for three months, I decided to design and manufacture my own. Using Fusion 360, I created the cowling from a precise scan of the nose section, excluding the motor. The process is similar to when individuals create photocopies of their rear ends. The v10 model features an integrated base plate, ensuring the plane's foam core remains intact even in the event of impact. A critical detail lies in the layer height, with 0.3 mm for the bottom section and 0.1 mm for the rest. The resulting weight is approximately 47 grams. When employing a 0.1 mm layer height on the flat areas, minimal support is required, as demonstrated in my previous photo. This design consideration enables users to create their own cowling without extensive support structures. For those who utilize motors other than E-flite's, I have created a shorter version of the cowling, catering to their specific needs.
