Cowboy Duck
thingiverse
This is a one-of-a-kind mashup I've created by combining multiple meshes from Thingiverse. I wanted my car's bonnet ornament to be the iconic convoy duck, but with a unique twist. I added an alternate version of the duck without pistols. Some printers struggle to print supports around the pistols at certain sizes, including mine. Removing the supports often results in snapping off the pistols. To work around this issue, I printed the duck at 175% and attached it to my car. I was thrilled with how he turned out, but a bit more filler primer and post-processing would have taken him to the next level. However, I was eager to get him on the car as soon as possible. In hindsight, I didn't want to invest too much time or effort into perfecting him since he's exposed to the elements and might be subject to stone chips, scratches, or even theft. For this particular application, "good enough" is acceptable.
