Updated model for .25" Polycarbonate head band and .02" PETG face shield. New hole pattern in PETG is a standard 3 hole punch (.25" holes, 4.25" on center). Hooks on the side enable respirator bands to secure more effectively. Additional hooks and holes accommodate elastic, rubber bands, or other materials for securing purposes. Standard rubber bands have been used for testing. A DXF test file for a top cover has also been added. Face Shield: Various options can be employed, all compatible with standard 3 hole punches. .02" thick PETG was cut using a 120w Epilog laser at 50% speed and 80% power, with a frequency of 4500. Shield Top: A DXF test file has been included for the top due to customer request. The same material and laser settings will be used as for the shield, but this design can also be printed on paper, cut out, and scaled up if a laser is not available. .25" Polycarbonate head band: Tool specifications include .125" up cut o-flute at 100ipm and 22000rpm. Cut strategy involves two passes: one depth pass leaving .02" onion skin, followed by a finish pass creating tabs (tabs should be avoided on the contact area). A table router has been used to remove tabs, while a tumbler breaks sharp edges; sandpaper is also an option for removing tabs and smoothing inner edges. Adding a gasket or cushion may be necessary, but comfort has been achieved without one in testing. Medical caps can likely be worn under this head band.
