On the planet Covidus Prime, Papa Nurgle did not sit idle. Long had he coveted the servants of Humanity quartered on this barren little rock, 3rd from its sun. The Hives that sprouted from the wastelands there were ripe for his cultivation, and he desired a new garden. From the small verminous winged mammals; he developed his vector... Once mutated sufficiently inside it's unremarkable host, Nurgle's new virus began to spread to the inhabitants of the hives. It's contagion a wildfire, soon the whole populace began to succumb to the inevitability of Nurgle's touch. Those that resisted isolated themselves from others in the hopes of containing its spread. For the nobles that had sufficiently stockpiled supplies, they quickly found that boredom was the most sinister and hidden danger, as idle hands often lead to heretical exploits. Throughout the Mortal Realms, Nurgle spreads his influence like seeds upon the wind. One such seed landed in the small city-state of Covidigar, one of the few beacons of civilization in the gloomy realm of Ulgu. Misinformation was the first thing to spread. At first mistaken for a common illness, the spread of Nurgle's new creation went unnoticed for some time. Only when the death toll began to mount, did the populace begin to realize the danger. Plague Doctors in avian death-masks quarantined the city, closing its gates and barring its river-ways to travelers. The damage was already done, as unknowing travelers unwittingly bore the Grandfather's pride to surrounding cities, thus beginning the doom of the Covidigar nation...
