This mask was designed by students at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná with safety as their top priority. However, it's essential to note that this is an emergency-only solution for N95 masks. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!While this design has not undergone rigorous certification testing, we're making it available to help meet the urgent need for personal protective equipment. To create a functional mask, the design can be thermoformed or 3D printed, followed by post-processing to ensure proper porosity control. For optimal performance, the filter material needs to provide at least 95% particulate filtration efficiency (PFE). Moreover, it must not significantly restrict airflow, as this could compromise the seal. To improve the seal's effectiveness, a rubberized edge can be added. Our prototype was created using 0.7mm flexible PVC.
